Medical Assistant Program

Students graduating this program will find themselves working in a variety of medical settings, including hospitals, private practices, histology laboratories, walk-in clinics and blood drawing facilities. The coursework within this program will provide a foundation in both clinical and administrative skills. This will provide graduates with the ability to choose a hands on, clinical based line of work or to take the administrative medical office career path.

Dental Assistant Program

Dental Assistants are one of the most versatile members of a dental team. This versatility stems from their training in both dental office administrative functions and clinical procedures. Dental Assistants are trained to assist in general dentistry procedures as well as across multiple dental specialties such as endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and prosthodontics. Students will develop a mastery of skills related to this occupation by attending and participating in a well rounded combination of lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction.

Medical Office Professional

Becoming a Medical Office Professional is the best way to take advantage of the growth in the medical field for students that aren’t looking for hands-on, clinical skills. This program provides graduates with a foundation in medical/dental terminology, medical office softwares and medical/dental billing and coding, which will allow them find careers in a variety of hospital, medical and dental environments.

Practical Nursing

LPN programs in CT are well known to provide graduates with access to a growing and evolving industry which provides excellent career opportunities for students willing to step up to a rigorous program of study. Our Practical Nursing program prepares students to contribute to the plan of care for individual patients in both acute and long-term care settings. Graduates are eligible to sit for the State of Connecticut licensure exam, the NCLEX-PN. Licensed Practical Nurses will find the majority of jobs in long-term care facilities, home care, rehabilitation centers and hospice facilities.

Patient Care Specialist

Over the past five years there has been a continual increase in the number of patients in need of long-term care. The Patient Care Associate provides a range of frontline care to these patients. Graduates from this program will have attained the 25 basic nursing skills required to become a Certified Nurses Aide and will also receive certification as a Home Health Aide. Additionally students will learn the basics of EKG and phlebotomy, providing them the ability to attain jobs in a hospital setting.
