WEST HAVEN, CT (1/27/12)—In February, Stone Academy and the American Heart Association will team up during Heart Month to encourage citizens to become more sensitive to heart wellness. According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease and stroke are the #1 causes of death in Connecticut.

On February 2, Stone Academy students will be able to dress down if they wear something red and donate $1 for the Go Red for Women campaign. On February 14, the Academy will sponsor a Valentine’s Day Bake Sale. Throughout the month, the Academy will sell red dress pins for $5 and red paper hearts for $1. All proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association. The general public is also invited to participate.

“The staff and students at Stone Academy have big hearts, and this is another heart-warming example of how they reach out to help others,” says Joseph Bierbaum, Corporate Admissions and Marketing Director. Stone Academy trains students to become medical office professionals, medical assistants, patient care associates, and licensed practical nurses. The Academy opened its beautiful West Haven campus at 560 Saw Mill Road in the summer of 2011. For details, please call 203-288-7474 or visit www.StoneAcademy.com
